Congratulations to all who took part in the Bach concerts this past weekend. Special thanks to BC Hydro who finally made it all possible after a seating rehearsal on Sunday which was spattered with power outages. I guess ex-Hydro guru Lee Anderson finally decided there was a slim chance of the performance meeting his expectations. I well recall a performance in Wales with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in an enormous tent when the same thing happened and we were left in total darkness and complete silence, until a brave concertmaster provided us with the comfort of a solo Bach partita. I was mighty relieved that my role didn’t extend that far on Sunday.
I wish my musical family the happiest of Christmases and the strength to go on tooting, fluting and scraping in 2010.
